How much does a WordPress website cost?
The most correct answer to this question is…it depends.
Let me give you an example. When you are looking to buy/rent a house or apartment what questions do you need to ask and have answered in order to make a decision? Does it have one bedroom or two or three? Does it have a garage or off-street parking? How big is the garage? Is the yard fenced or is there a park nearby? Does it have a swimming pool? Is it heated? How is it heated? What do the monthly utilities cost, etc. ?
Similar questions are asked when developing a website. Where is the site hosted? What is the level of hosting and what is included at that level? Will the website have an eCommerce function for selling products? How many products? Are shipping and taxes to be calculated? Will the website have a membership function so visitors can join and then have access to content not available to non-members? How will they join? will you take credit card payments? which cards? What part of the content will be restricted to members only? Where will the website content come from? Where will the media (images, videos, graphics) come from? etc., etc.
The answers to each of these questions (and many more) are required in order to estimate a website development cost.
So, it depends…
What is meant by ‘website content’ and where will it come from?
Website content is the information that appears on your website’s pages. It includes text and images. Both the website text and images are provided by you, the website owner. You may either write the content, take the photos or generate the illustrations yourself or hire a content producer to take care of that for you.
